Don't buy this guys wiring diagram. He is making illegal copies anyway. This guy is profiting from stolen material. I think I will just copy all of my manuals on Acrobat and offer them for free.
If anyone needs early wiring diagrams then go here to get them free: http://www.hillmanimages.com/912/early_912_wiring.html

finally somebody said it
Confused, I agree with you. During the last three years I have been tempted to make a similar statement. Given the nature of the product at issue here, I feel that Mr. White's repeated postings are an abuse of this forum.

Confused:
Are you a patent/copyright lawyer ?? Charlie White provides us a product many of us have benefited from. Not all of us can afford a complete Porsche Shop Manual set. You aparently have strong negative feelings so don't buy it but don't accuse the man of stealing either. Shame on you. Thanks, Ron D

I don't know who's right and who's wrong in this debate...i always thought it was copyright infringement to copy a book and re-sell it but Charlie White has been doing this for a while, so I'll assume he's legit.
But at the same token, and this is an ehtical question: I have two of the late Harry Pellow's books in electronic format (Word and PDF), that I purchased years ago in diskette format. I couldn't stand the non-formatted ASCII text, so be ing a technical writer, I re-formatted, edited, spell-corrected, and indexed "The ABCs and 912s of Porsches" and "Murphy is My Co-Pilot" on my own time and at my own effort/expense. Can I make these copies available to the 912 community at a price? for free???? erik. |

Since I'm the one who posted the original message in this thread, I'd
like to have one last comment. I'm not offering these items to make big bucks......in fact, at the price, its probably a wash or a small loss. I have a real job at which I do just fine. I am first and foremost, a serious Porsche enthusiast, and have been for nearly 35 years. I also am a serious collector of Porsche literature, sales brochures, workshop manuals, parts books, anything on paper published by Porsche, particularly for 356's and 912's. See my various websites on 356 and 912 literature. So in offering these items, I'm doing so as a hobby enterprise. I've done my homework, but everyone has their own opinion. I enjoy doing it, particularly because I've met a lot of really great Porsche people, and maybe I've helped a few in the process. I'm not interested in stiring up a hornet's nest here, or offending anyone's sensibilities. If the consensus is that I not do this anymore......so be it. Life is too short (don't ask how I know) to fight about it. Regards, Charlie White |

No Harry Pellow material, but the Lone Star 912 website has a bunch of very useful technical info available on their site available for download.

A quick comment before this thread goes back into hibernation. I don't know Charlie White, but the website he put up and maintains is a great place to view original Porsche literature without actually having to purchase it. Some of the rare photos and factory literature he's made available for viewing is a gift to all Porsche enthusiasts. Whether or not this material legally belongs in the public domain is for others to decide, but most of this stuff is so far out of print that (IMO) it really doesn't matter. So, from one long-time Porsche enthusiast to another, thanks for your efforts.

Yep, I reformatted the ABC's from the old diskette when I bought it from Harry.
