set it to a max advance of around 30 to 32 degrees, it should hit max around 3500 rpms, but don't worry about the RPMs, just the max advace. What disty are you running? Please do not say 009....

I dont think you can get max of 32 degrees out of a 009, if you do the advance at idle would be way too much? Try to find an 050 or 032 dizzy.
