It'is located under the car, on the passenger side, near the the starter.
You may want to have the 912 on a lift for a look.

Smile ground connection

I have .. somewhere.. a power drain (battery).. did not get to check/run wires this break (did get points/plugs n' timed).. have slight red indication.. seems to grow brighter with rpm's.
I'll find your strap.. you find my drain.

On my 69 I have a ground strap at the forward end of the Tranny to the body. It uses a tranny bolt on one end and body on other end, just to the right of the speedo connection under there (looking from back of car to front).

I also have developed a generator light that increases with intensity as RPM's increase. At higher RPM is actually blinks at a steady rate like it is being timed by a relay opening and closing.
Very dim at low RPM.

I had my engine out to do the sound pads and all wiring went back in based on digital photo's I took before removal.

Isolating Power Drains

Here's the process:

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.

2. Place a 12V test light in series between the loose ground cable and the disconnected negative battery terminal.

With the ignition off the light should be off. IF the light is on, this indicates that something in the vehicle is drawing current from the battery. Lets assume in your case the light is on.

Now, with the light on go to the fuse box. Pull fuses one at a time while watching the light. If the light dims or goes out, you have found a circuit with a current "leak". Now go to your wiring diagram and by process of elimination, move through that circuit until the light is out. Problem solved.

NOW- I have the same gewnerator light issue where it gets brighter at revs. My tach acts up too, "sticking" at a couple thousand RPMs. Are they related??? I dunno. help me out!
