Suspension upgrade

New set of Sway-Away adjustable spring plates to be installed. I want to fine tune the ride height. Owner of the business is a P-car owner/racer and will set her up nicely.

RRC715,
I like it.... Mine will be a lot rougher but it will be a good driver (i hope). I'm getting closer on mine.
For anyone that wants to see what I've done you can look here. But be warned I'm a novice....

Love the lowered stance - how does it ride? What size tire are you running?

Rides a little firm but feels very stable. I’m running 185/60/15s but I might change to 195/65 since I like the larger tire look on a lowered car. However these tires feel really good.

I am considering putting this car up for sale since I have basically finished most of the mods I wanted to do. Maybe on to the next car, I am considering an SC or another Carrera. Just trying to decide.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. RC

went another route

Well,
I decided to go another route. i ordered adjustable spring plates from www.elephantracing.com instead. Sway-A- Away, was having trouble with there suppliers and had no SWB spring plates in stock. They were waiting on some parts to come in to be able to put a set together. But after waiting awhile and speaking with Elephant racing I'm going that route. There a few things I like about the Elephant racing spring plates and I think they will fit what I'm doing with the car better. I also ordered the Polybronze™ Bearings also. I ended up spending a lot more money but I think in the long run I'll be happier.

Randy, I have heard nothing but good things about elephant racing products so I’m sure it will work out great for your needs. Keep on trucking man, transformation of the cars is all the fun.

Ride Adjustments and corner ballance

I called and spoke with Darrin at West End Allignment in Gardena Ca. on a buddy’s recommendation. After discussing my car I set up an appointment. I realize there are lots of specialty shops for our cars and I am careful to call anyone or anything the best but this shop is incredible. The attention to detail and what I can only describe as prideful work ethic these guys offer is awesome. Darrin discussed my driving habits and what I wanted out for the car. He then proceeded to disassemble front and rear suspensions and systematically reassembled everything to the desired specs. Ride height, spline adjustments, all rubber inserts, and corner balancing.

I could not be happier with the immediate improvements and overall feel. 5 stars for this shop and father/son team.

Morning drive through the hills.

My first drive through the hills since West End Allignment did their magic. Incredible how well a 50 year old car runs the curves. Nice work Darrin!

Cars & Coffee. Harris Ranch Restraunt

Cars & Coffee event at Harris Ranch in Coalinga California. 1-1/2 hour road trip with my buddy to this event. Car drove like a champ! and was one four Porsche’s at the event. The P-cars were shown a lot of love from the attendees.
