suspension

i'm looking to autocross my 1.8 and i was wondering if anybody had suggestions for suspension all the way around. i was looking at koni yellows (adjusting the shocks by turning a know is good), and was wondering if anybody had any experience with these shocks, or if they know of another easily adjustable shock that would suit my needs

thanks

Ok, How much do you have to spend?

List of Upgrades
1. New Ball joints
2. Turbo Tie Rod Ends.
3. Replace bushing with bearings
4. Replace struts with coil overs (requires strenthening the car)
5. Add Sway bar
6. Increase size of T-Bar
7. Upgrade to 911 5 lug front end
8. Replace steel cross beam with Alum cross beam
9. Corner balance the car
10. Install mono-balls at the top of the strut.

Step 0: RTFR. Read The Rulebook. When building a "race car", this should always always always be the first thing you do.

My own autoX preferences have already been spelled out in a previous thread. The short version is, get the car into good working order, take all the junk out of the trunks and cockpit, over-fill by a half-quart of oil, and GO!! Worry about suspension modifications later, drive first.

As you can see, it's really easy to spend a boat-load of money on suspension mods if you feel the need. I don't think it's necessary, as a bone-stock 914 will provide you with a truly absurd amount of fun as-is!

I've heard koni yellows are good because of teh versatility. You can set it to ride soft of harsh depending on what your needs are and I think most koni products are pretty high quality.

The Koni shocks as they come out of the box only control the rebound. They can be revalved and made to control the compression and rebound. A bunch of folks also like the Bilstein sport shocks.
