Post geez - really dumb one here fellas

how much oil in the crank case of a 1.7? I can not seem to convert pints to quarts per haynes and the owners manual...

It's about 3.8 quarts (a full 4 quarts if you pour fast on a cold day, leaving a bit in each container

Scott is right, but don't forget to add a bit more due to the missing bit in the oil filter when you changed it (you did change it, didn't you?) The full 4 quarts should do it, with a top off from a 5th after you check the levels after you drive it around the block.
