HELP! 914 Celette Fixture Bench Jig NEEDED!

Hello!

Does anyone know who may have a "Celette Fixture Bench Frame Jig" that is located in Southern California? (Porsche capitol of the world!) lol

My 914-6 GT project is now on-hold until a make a small .25" inch correction to the frame so that we can continue and install the steel reinforced GT Targa-Top and roll-bar. See links below...

Here is the 914-6 GT Targa Top http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/86736092

This link shows us the rear-right corner of the targa top http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/88800843 while fully inserted towards the front windshield frame, here is a closer look http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/88800846 showing the problem.

Here we see the opposite side of the targa-top showing an overlap http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/88800847 and here is a better angle of this side http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/88800853

Also, the roll-bar installation is now almost complete but we cannot proceed with the welding of the forward tubes until we know the chassis is true and square. See here http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/98971114 and http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/98971143

If you know anyone that may be able to offer some assistance or can provide any leads on may have access to a Celette Bench Jig with the proper 914 fixtures, please email me the information at ajserrano@msn.com

Thank you all in advance.

Armando

Yeaman's Autobody used a set on Andy Schmidt's car.

Not familiar with either one. Where is the shop located? Do you have a telephone number? Thx!

They did, but I don't know where from. You can call them and ask, though.

You can also PM "Sir Andy" on this BBS or on the 914world BBS; I think he arranged the rental of the jig for his cars.

Thanks guys!

I remain hopeful to find a Celette bench here somewhere closer to me in Southern California. The renting of the 914 specific fixtures makes sense as I suspect those were not as popular or as widely used as the ones for the 911 cars.

All the best!

Actually, we met but that was quite a while ago. around the time you were looking at the 100L GT tank from John at SSI. if i recall correctly.

anyways, give scott yeaman a call, i did two of my cars at his shop. he owns the celette bench and rents the fixtures specific for the 914 and 914/6 when needed.

if i remember right, there's only one place at the west coast that still rents the fixtures, but scott will know for sure. he's a 914 addict, just like most of us

Hello Andy! I didn't know you by "Andy Schmidt" but rather as "SirAndy". Sorry about that! Also, I was not aware of "Yeaman's Autobody".

Thanks for the leads, I now only need to find a "Celette Bench" here locally at a shop in Southern California and then rent the 914 fixtures from Yeaman's.

Anyone knows of a shop with a Celetter bench in Southern California?

Thanks again!

Armando

Those are factory steel 914-6 GT flares. Ther rears were widen by about 1.5" inches to allow the use of the wider 9x15 Fuchs and 9x15 Magnesium Minilite wheels.

Follow the links below to see the install photo sequence of the front and rear fenders;
