Voltage Regulators
Is the 914/6 voltage regulator different from the 4? According to Mittelmotor, it is. Everyone else seems to give the same part number.

Hi James,
Mittelmotor is correct....901-603-206-02 is for the 914-6, 1970-71. Part number 043-903-803B fits 914-4 and 914-6 1972 only (for the six) The 901 number is very popular, fits early 911s w/Bosch alt, 240 series volvos and VW type IV, 1972-79. Let me know

From what I understand, you can also switch to the later-style 911 alternators that have internal voltage regulators. This should eliminated your need for the relay board in your engine compartment!
