Yep, on "most" cars at least.

Except 205/50 Hoosiers; they are a tight fit even on 6" wheels.

You had better have a tire guy that really likes you.

If not.. he will hate you after squeezing 205-50's on a Fuch.

Seriously, the tire makers dont recommend putting a 205 on a 5.5 inch rim. Its a stretch to make 6.

Kumho, Falken and a few others list a 5.5" width rim as the minimum for the 205/50/15 sized tires.

So what size should be run the little Fuchs?

I have a set of 15x7's, but they are sorta ugly and heavy
(steel rims with a new outer section)

I really liked the 195/60 A008RS's that I had a while back.

Too bad you can't get -R tires in that size anymore; it worked well on the 5.5" rims.

My car currently has 4-lug Fuchs with 195/65's in front, and believe it or not 215/60's in back (Pirelli P6000's). Way too much squirm from these puppies compared to what I'm used to (40-50 series). Fortunately they will be for sale in about 3 weeks.

Hopefully this car will fit 15x7's without too much tweaking.

195 50 ? any1 try that?

My car currently has 195 60 15 on it. I will be buying new tires
as well. Has any 1 tried 195 50s? Seems like the tire height
might be too low. No? The better tires seem to come in the
195 50 as opposed to other 195 sizes. 205 50 I think I'll pass
on due to the fact that there is a chance they wont fit.

I've got 195/50s. The low gearing is nice when autoXing or racing. Kinda sucks on the long haul to the track, though. 2-4 hours at 4000 RPM (to keep up with freeway traffic) gets really old after a while...

Shorter sidewalls==lower car, less ground clearance. Also harsher ride. Also more feedback from what the tires are doing. Also better grip. Also better behavior in transitions.

When I finally go to separate street and race tires, my street tires will not be 195/50s...

I had the P6000 in 195/50/15 on fuch 2.0's. The were really great on track for an all-weather tire. Excellent feel, and the fit was comfortable with good clearance.

I just put a set of the new Yoko AVS ES100s on my Fuchs. They fit just fine. I got them shipped from TireRack for $340. They look intimidating and stick quite nicely. Take them to some place familiar with mounting low profile tires.

Plus, I get a little RC 911Turbo for free.

I would have bought them anyway, but now I get a toy to chase the cat around the house with. ; )
