wtb 914/6 title or vin

Hi guys,
I've been looking for an 914/6 title or vin, no matter if '70 or '72. I got that original rust free body with a cut out vin and want to put it back on the road. Let me know if you got something for me...

Regards

Well it almost sounds like you are trying to perpetrate a fraud.....if that be the case (and I hope I am wrong) I hope you can afford a good attorney because at some point you may need one. The proper way to put your clean chassis on the road is to go through the local DMV and get a new VIN assigned to that car so there is no potential fraud. Was every single VIN number removed from the car? Do you have any record of the original VIN at all? And finally, why were the VIN's removed? If all you really want is to get the chassis on the road so you can enjoy the car, you do not need a 70-72 914-6 VIN for that.

Taking the VIN off of one car (for example a valuable, original 914-6 VIN) and adding it to less valuable chassis, (for example a much more common 914 chassis) to make what on its face would then be a much more collectible, rare chassis is fraud, pure and simple. The only reason I can see one would do that is for (potential) financial gain and the deceit of a possible future buyer/owner.

Cars that have had this done, and it has been done, deserve to be confiscated and crushed.

Regards.

I agree with Cairo, what you are attempting to do is Illegal.

If you have a Real -6 that the VIN was cut out of, there are legal ways to Title the car.

Vin swapping is ILLEGAL in California (don't know laws in any other states).

Talk to George Hussey @ Automobile Atlanta ... he claims it is legal for him to do in Georgia.

Not something I would do ... don't like Bubba at all.

Just because George says it is Legal for him to do, doesn't mean it's true.

It's Illegal & if you get one from him, you might share a Jail Cell with him & BDJ

I have a few, but you have to buy a whole car to get one ..

The least $$$$ but matching #s and all the "correct" 914-6 stuff is there..

I would not be surprised one bit if the authorities need to do any type vin or serial number research due to a 914 theft, etc., simply using Google, they will find this post. Guess who they might contact?

It appears the only part one could salvage rom that car may be the ignition switch, the 914-6 emblem and possibly the Fuchs wheels and the maintenance record booklet.

The person who let that poor car rust away like that should be tied to a tree and flogged with a switch.

Hey Byron ... looked at the pics ... oil cooler doesn't look stock for a /6. Did the factory produce something other than what I know as a stock /6 cooler. Ron

Out of curiosity, how did the factory do it when a 911 or other body was wrecked and they sold an entire tub for rebuilding? They are the manufacturer so did that give the the legal right to do it?

northshore...
there are a few places on the 914-6 body where the vin is located....
stamped in the metal on trunk right rear and right front fender well hump, the standard vin aluminum tag front trunk, in "crayon" under the dash, the DOT sticker driver door...
so may be one of these are still on the car and you can register it with the proper agency...
