changing an engine in a 81 924

I am desperatly needing help in modifying my 81 924. i want to increase the proformance of the car and i would really like to put a different engine preferably a 16valve vw scriccio. now i have heard that they have the same block but i want to know if it is possible to do it. or even to put something else in instead of that mechanical FI. so if anyone has toyed with the idea of converting their 4cyl into something faster i would really really appreciate some info on how to do it myself . thanks

The 924 can be a fun car to play with. Unfortunatly, they are not powerhouses. Horsepower is not cheap with a 924. I would install a weber big throat throttle body or one from an Audi 5000, advance the timing a scoach, free up the exhaust, install a k&n filter and drive it. Your (our) cars will never be worth much and you can loose a fortune by swapping motors.

A guy in our club has a 924 turbo for sale , I think he only wants $1500 and it looks nice and runs good.
