A Real Puzzler
I have noticed some oil on the back side of the engine on the block to the left of the header closest to the firewall. I noticed this two weeks ago when I was bleeding my brakes. I've checked my oil level and it hasn't used a drop and it never has. All of my other fluids are up to par and using none. There is no oil on the floor in the garage either. Is this perhaps some kind of spilt oil from long ago? My oil cooler seels were done two years ago with the timing belt but the oil cooler is on the otherside of the engine anyway. Can someone put me at ease or tell me whats up? Its running like a top so I think its nothing to worry about. I'm going to clean it off and see if it reappears.

If I understand you correctly, it could be coming from the upper balance shaft housing. Mine leaked there so I had to reseal the housing. Not fun with a turbo because turbo had to come off to remove balance shaft housing. Mine was leaking quite a lot, however.

Well I cleaned it off and I took my car for a spin. I drove it good and got it heated up nicely. After about 20 minutes of driving I returned home (Checked my power steering fluid) and checked where the oil had been. I found nothing. I take this was maybe left over from something previous. I'll keep checking for signs of more oil this week. I sure hope its not my balance shaft seel because that was replaced nearly 2 years ago.
