968 Shocks/Struts Questions

I have a 93 968 that I looking at doing some winter maintenance with. I have just finished oil/belts/coolant/brake fluids and started looking a the shocks and struts. I'm not sure they need attention. I do not see any damage or leaking oil. The bump stops do show some wear on the struts but that's it. The car has 55K on it. Should the shocks and struts need replacing? I don't track and the car is just a Saturday/Sunday top down driver for me but I would like to keep everything in good shape.

If I do need to change any recommendations? The OEM struts are still available but the rear shocks are not. It looks like my options are OEM struts with Bilstein rears or Koni front and back. Any other non-track options?

Thanks

Are you having any issues or complaints about the ride quality? Most people switch if they want stiffer/sportier handling.

Probably a cab and probably not an M030 car.

At 55K the shocks and struts are fine, you would not notice a change if you replaced them. Unless one is damaged, has leaked, etc. The stockers are IMO remarkably robust and long-lived.

Yep, 93 cab non M030. I have had the car for about 20 years but its been in storage some of that time while I was working in Asian.

+1 they should be good for a while, but still you could start looking around for the rear shocks ,they will be hard to find, none list here on Pelican, lots of them for the coupe but none for the cab.

I did my 92 in 2016. Only 75K but 24 years. Made a world of difference. After going back and forth, I ended up putting the OEM Boges (Sachs??) back on it. Couldn't be happier.
