Alternator charging voltage

I have a rebuilt alternator that is putting out 14.5 volts at idle. To me this seems a little high. I have a new advanced auto AGM battery and before I ruin it, I though I would go out for opinions about the charging voltage.

And are there any other alternator checks I could perform?

The car has had two other batteries go bad, one was pretty old 8 years advanced auto brand, the other a fairly new Exide. Could the alternator have caused this?

Also I have another rebuilt alternator in the box, so I could swap.

From what I understand that voltage is perfect.
