Check list for buying a 951
Ok. I am finialy ready to buy a 951 and have a check list written up. Is there anything to add, or not to worry about on this list. Also, can 17" or 18" rims fit on the 86' model or do you need an adapter? Thank you.
1. belts 2. hoses 3. water pump 4. turbo 5. head leak? 6. engine seals leak? 7 sunroof leak? 8. accedent? 9. rust 10. brakes 11. shocks 12. tires Everybody stand back! i'm about to join the club. |

add exhaust manifold and engine mounts
18" wheels not recommended by the manufacturer. Unless the wheels/tires are in terrible shape, upgrading is very expensive.

Good call, Rog..Didn't think of it because I have one in every car..I consider it as "standard equipment"!!

A pre-purchase inspection should be mandatory.
Make sure you ask how many miles are on the clutch. Clutches typically only last about 80k miles on a Turbo. These cars are also prone to have electrical gremlins, so make sure all the power accessories work. The cruise control in particular is very common to be non-functional. |
