Anybody know if those aftermarket shift lights (like Autometer) can be used w/ stock tach? I want a shift light, but don't want an additional tach.

No, I don't think you can run a light to the factory tach. If you want your shift light come on at a predetermined rpm (that you can adjust), you can't hook it up even after openning the tach. But who knows, maybe somebody started making shiftlights that'll bolt to anything. Call up autometer.

951s don't have shiftlights (or automatic trans).
I want to shift just after I roll off the RPM peak, which is a ways below redline. By LISTENING, I run way past, into the fall-off zone of the RPM band... |

I was under the impression that the 951 kept its power all the way through to redline, and that shifting at redline was the optimal point.

Change your wastegate, and shift at redline (as well as make power up to).

A universal shift light will not function with a 951 tach... I'm sure something could be made to work however. (this is what I remember).

what about plumbing into the dealer flywheel sensor? (see broken sensor thread)
That would be easy, right? |
