I would say pick up the wire going to the temp switch at radiator, and connect to one side of bypass switch contact. The other side of bypass switch contact connect to ground. Why do you want to do this?If you forget to switch the bypass off you will run the battery down. If temperature switch packs up, do as some others in forum suggested, turn aircon on and that fan runs continuously.

im doing this because ive noticed that my fan doesnt kick on till slightly under 220F, and i dont really have the time(or patience) to replace the thermo switch at this point in time. my radiator is also slightly clogged so if i turn on the ac i really overheat.

With the A/C on you should be forcing both fans on regardless of the coolant temp. If the car is over heating with the A/C on I would guess you have other problems. Probably bad fans or relays have you tested the entire system yet? I would also suggest changing the coolant and bleeding the system.
If you want to bypass the thermo switch most people just run two wires directly from the battery especially if the circuit is suspect.

There is a difference between the 924's, early 944's and later 944's.
The 924's and early 944's are similar but the whole nut changed with the later 944's as they incorporated the AC relays and a two speed two fan relay into one honker of a relay! If you have a later 944 it's the large silver housing one at the back of the relay-fuse block. Costs $150 new. So it's possible to put a bypass switch in by grabing a keyed power terminal and jumping it to one of the relay terminals IF the relay is good. Have to dig through the schematics to find out which terminals. I'm not responsible for testing failures if you try it. But the first thing I would do with your over heating car is replace the clogged radiator.

Those moths will soon be joined by bollweevles when your engine blows a head gasket or heats the oil up too much and spins a rod bearing.
