PEOPLE! hello.
I was looking at my engine..... And I thought to myself... "What can I do to make this look somewhat more sexy!?" lol. So then BAM! I got an idea. PAINT! Red paint to be exact. (Computer generated) All right. Basically I am asking everyone's opinion; and/or if any of you have done this before. If so, what kinda paint should I use? The reason I am wanting to do this is to make the engine "pop" a little more, you know? For example... I open my hood, and people come out of no where, and say "Holy moly! Now THAT is sexy!"... lol. Or... If that can't happen. I'll accept this.... Say I'm at a local 'In N Out' (The best burger place ever!) , and I pop my hood... Then WHAM; Naked women flawk to my car... Hahaha. And I will not accept anything less then that. Later all. Drive safe. Bye.

I know I'll probably get flamed for being a heretic. But,... These days pretty engines are generally the stomping grounds of your average rice rockets. We're talking exterior paint matched details, color coordinated wiring and hoses, and polished or chromed pieces. If you leave the block alone, I'd paint or polish the intake manifold and cam housing, then color match plug wires, vac hoses, water hoses and fuel lines, then clean and polish everything else an Wha La!

I think I'm the only one around here that wants to keep every P-Car, with the exception of maintenance items, EXACTLY as it came off the line.

I think it's our nature to tinker and improve, plus the fact that most people use their cars to illustrate their own individualism. See what I mean:

lol.. all right..
But to inform you all... The red on the engine was computer generated. I did it to see how it'll look. And I was wondering if anyone has done this? Also.. What kind of paint would you recommend... And to apply it... I was thinking about just using a small paint brush. So.. people... Yeh or neh? Me, myself, am leaning towards YEH! Sexy naked women sprinting to my car. lol. All and all... it'll be done for uniqueness. Thanks for your time guys... Stay safe. Bye. ps. Hey Louie (lousailor), which transformer is that? Hahaha... Just messin'. Looks so damn complex... My head hurts.

As for the question of actually doing it, I would have to say that unless you are going to clean-up/polish the rest of your engine compartment, don’t bother! Nothing looks worse than a half done job! IMHO! Quote:

all i have to say... HAVE SOME INDIVIDUALISM! don't be so lame! you don't need to rice it out, but don't be like EVERYONE else... christ, maybe use authentic porsche parts, but customize that *****... i say go for it, i was thinking doing something to my engine too... but polishing not, painting... maybe black on the letters... can that housing with "PORSCHE" written across it polish out nicely?
ALSO, how would i go about polishing it?

If you have to do it, do it tastefully. I'm just tired of every part of the car being color matched to the exterior. At least nobody is talking about putting a bunch of blinking LEDs everywhere.

Trevor... tired of color matching?
Look... Like I stated before, it's all going for uniqueness, you know? And in my opinion, and numerous other (being that of friends and/or whoever else i've ran this idea by) I believe it would look pretty clean. Plus add a female nudity rating of +10!. lol. Since I've yet to see someone that's done what i'm talking about, I am interested in doing it. Thank you for your opinion. Stay safe all. Bye. ps. Watch out! FLASHING LED LIGHTS! lol. just playing.

I tend to go along with Trevor and bill d cat but some on the forum have called me "uncle Ben" what ever that means, but I get the general idea. The Porsche name says it for itself so understatement is more classy to me,and lousailor's yellow engine is classy. Personally think black would be a more subtle statement and I would be interested to see what the computer generated image would look like. Also it's pointless detailing unless the car has a clean engine bay like that yellow 924's.

I am in the process of cleaning my engine. But I just was messing around with the image to see how it'll look.
I'll spend a little time today (like 5 min) and put black in place of the red, and post it. okie dokie? And feedback would be good. Who knows... maybe when I clean it, i'll decide not to do anything under the hood... But as of right now.. I WANNA! =] Oh, and by the way.. Thanks for all the commentary. All right.. Later all. Stay safe. ________________________________________________ About 10 min. Later... HEY! Ok, well I just put black on it. Opinions welcome. (Either to do so, or compared to the red lettering) [A little red hue is around the letters still... But laziness inhibits me from fixing it. lol.] Later all. Stay safe. Bye.
