Post Heater Core shut off

My heater core is constantly hot. Meaning hot air is entering my car increasingly with speed, its very annoying. I know the valve that is broken and causeing this is very hard to get to, but is there a way to shut this off?

Are you sure that it's not just the mixing flap clip? $4 fix total.

go under the driver side foot area of yoru car and look up in the area UNDERNEATH the key ignition. you should see a small plastic white clip. there also should be a rod hanging down around there. that rod has to **** in the plastic clip to hold the vent door closed.

Any easy fix that i did on my car was to manually shut off the value. This only works if the value is still good, and for some reason is just not closing(like mine was).

Open the hood and stand on the passenger side of the car. Reach with your left hand behind the engine to the valve. It's positioned vertically, with approx 3/4 rubber hose going into and out of it. There is also a wire that connects through the fire wall to the control inside the car. Pull the white arm towards you as far as it will go(and make sure it stays there). This should shut the heat off.

This worked on my 83, i'm not sure of the year of your car, but i don't believe this was changed.

Hope this helps!

I did the thing that shaftk215 did on his. the piece that he is reffering to is in the center of the engine bay, about 8 inches down, just above the flywheel housing. The cable that is supposed to move it was not connected and it stayed hot in my car. I just pushed the white arm counterclockwise (while looking down on it). The heat is no longer on.
