Post Mass. and company

Alright, i keep seeing posts about the north-east meetings but have not seen anything final.

I am a 17 year kid who knows nothing but the love for my car. I am not at all experienced with cars and that is mostly why i want to meet some of you guys. I realize i wont be a car expert even if i go to a meet but i figure it cant possibly hurt to learn a little. Also i want to meet other 944 enthusiasts(sp). I live near boston and dont know ANY 944 drivers and its be nice to meet some guys that are as interested in these cars as i am.

So.....Anyone who lives in or around Mass...please reply, i am willing to drive, but will probably have to be to a neighboring state and no further

PS i remeber one of you guys lives in summerville MA, i dont remember who though. Summerville is about 20-30 min away from where i live, itd be great to meet you.

that really hurts guys.....i've been crying for a couple days now. No one wants to hang out with me?

But good story tonight, i met a kid with a 944 and my car was starting a little raspy all day and we talked and he knew alot about the car. He did all his own work and was about to put in a clutch by himself, so i was impressed. I asked him to come listen to my car, and i turn the key and......nothing, didn't start. Good thing i met him, he jumped me and i took the car home. I think its my alternator, i am kinda doubting its JUST my battery.

CJ and Andre ... maybe we should hit the town one Friday or saturday night ... and drive our cars in the infamous streets ... you know, Newberry, Landsdowne, and of course ... Tremont street in front of the clubs in the midst of the crowd ... I hate to be a poser, but I think that would be kinda cool ...

and our cars would look like crap compared to all the usual fare on Newbury Street on a weekend night... all those Porsche Turbos and Vipers and Ferraris...

If it says Porsche on the Front, the girls will dig it ... just mention the high performacne K&N Filter and she'll be on her knees ....

I'd rather be someone with an old porsche driving on Newberry than someone walking on the sidewalk because he was too embarrased by his clunker civic or oldsmobile ...

Andre,
You know that I'm from NJ, but don't hold that against me!
Your best bet is to join your local Porsche Club of America. It's about $30 a year to join, but it is very beneficial. Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with PCA is any way, except that I am active member in my region.

Here's some information on local clubs for you to look into:

Porsche Club of America (PCA): www.pca.org and try these regions:

Connecticut Valley Region: http://www.cvrpca.org/cvrfhome.htm
I found about 14 944/968 owners there.
They run autox at Smith & Wesson (??) in MA, I believe. Plus they have DE programs, rallies and socials.

Hudson Champlian Region: (Mostyly NY and Berkshire county, MA):
http://vista.pca.org/hcp

Northeast Region:
http://www.porschenet.com/
They cover all of MA except for Berkshire, Hampden, and Hampshire. I also found a dozen or so 944 owners in this region.

North Jersey Region:I don't know if it is still open, but my region (PCA-NNJR) is doing a DE event at Lime Rock Park in CT:
http://vista.pca.org//nnj/track.html

Also, try other sports car clubs:

NE SCCA club: www.ner.org. They do autocross events in Ayer, MA, Loudon, NH, and I think Rome NY and Horseneck beach. Not sure how many Porsches show up for the event, but there's always at least one!

NASA (National autosport association):
NASA NE: http://smpsystems.com/nasa/ (Mostly NY & NJ)

Check out the auto club links at Perry's autox website:
http://www.autox4u.com/autolink.htm

Hope this all helps you find some fellow 944 owners! Good luck!
-Zoltan.

Ooops, I just remembered, my crossmemeber is cracked, so it would be kinda dangerous for me to drive the car ... I'm waiting for the parts to come in next week so I can do the work (crossmember, mounts, s-bar bushings) ..

Hey Masaachusetts guys,

If you havn't joined the Porsche Club of America do it. The Massachusetts region had autox #4 Sunday the 19th. There were about 7 944's. We do autox at fort devens in Ayer. Go to the link mention above. I have a 1986 944T. Besides autox there are other things , tech sessions, driving your car on a real track like NHIS or Limerock or others. Plus there are a whole bunch of cool people.

John
