Post Battery Drain

My battery is drained dead within 2 days of sitting idle. Battery is fine and not the problem. My question is, what is the procedure for testing the circuts other than pulling fuses? Is there a way to test each circut for a draw like one would use an amprobe? Is there an amprobe out there for 12v system?
Thanks

Check your glovebox lite. My door always used to open just enough to turn the light on and kill my battery, til I parked it one nite and saw the lite on through the crack of the door.

Connect an ampmeter in series with the ground terminal. That is all the current flows through the meter. You should have a reading of about 0.07 amps or less.
If more, remove a fuse at a time until it drops. Repair and check again.
If you have an aftermarket alarm, I would bet that is the problem.
Other possiblity is that the wiring in the doors has shorted and you have a constant feed to the door window motors or switches.

i concur with Britwrench... check to make sure that you don't have a bad ground, or a frayed wire somewhere. the method he suggested will get you results!

good luck!

We're getting warm. I just charged the bat and started the car and all that stuff. After I shut it off I started playing with the switches and both windows worked with ignition off and key out. Thought that was odd. So if I have a short in the window circut they will work with the car off? I will try the bat ground in series with the meter too.

Thanks

Not just Porsche feature. Many other cars have this feature.

I wasn't 100% sure of that feature, while I was outside dealing with the bat I had the drivers door open and pushed in on the switch in the jamb for a few seconds and let it out, both windows still worked and that's when I thought it was odd. Stray u r rite. It sits to often and I'm to busy when I get home from work most times. Drove it to work for a month straight last summer with no problems. Big problem is that I live 5 min from work and my office is on a pier and I hate parking it there so I figure it might as well stay in the driveway/carport vs. the 5 min ride to the salt air and sun. Another problem I have is in cold weather, and I've posted this before with no luck, is that it won't start. Checked everything but the afm so I'm leaning towards that. Cold weather is just around the corner here and that is when I get time to ride. Boating season is over!
