Throttle Response Cam

I wanted to put on a Weltmeister throttle response cam but it says only for manual cars is there a difference that I cant install it?

I don't know why they would specify for manual transmission only...unless there is additional cable attached to the current trottle cam for cruise control.

Examine your current throttle cam assembly...

Manual transmission cars have a single braided cable coming from the firewall (gas pedal) to the lever arm of the throttle cam. There is a return spring on the cam, and another return spring on the shaft. A single nut retain the whole assembly.

If yours is like this...go ahead and replace the cam.

The new throttle cam eliminates the lever arm, which gives the gas pedal a 1:1 ratio. i.e. you don't depress the gas pedal as far to rev the engine.

Want more throttle? Remove the plastic bolt that sticks out of the stop for the accelerator pedal. Then continue to floor it.

i got one of those installed and noticed no more throttle response than the stock setup. just looks pretty when you open the hood to find a different color other than aluminum and flat black

yeah, auto tranny has a kickdown cable. and the mount is incompatable. totally different critter.
