Has anyone installed the performance products power door locks?
I saw the kit in the Performance Products catalog for $100 and would love power door locks. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thoughts on it? How easy is it to install?

You should be able to get those installed for that price at an alarm proshop. You can get it in conjunction with an alarm or solo. If solo you need a door lock switch. I'd go with an OEM switch that fits in the knock outs in front of the shifter. It'll be worht it for that clean factory look.

Ya. I believe it has the oem switch that fits in there with it. I know best buy wants $75 a door for that but I don't trust best buy and the idiot installers who work there (no offense to any installer, there are a few good ones out there). I don't have a link off hand but I was looking and couldn't find a kit specified for the 944 anywhere else.

The PerfProducts kit is easy to install... I've used it in my 84 for about 15 years! It just locks and unlocks both doors with the ignition key... simple lock actuators, no remotes, alarm interfaces, etc.

I had a custom shop install my electric doors many many years back..... I would drive in and let them get all the parts and install them for you..... If the switch breaks they will fix it.....
Unfortunately I moved to TX when mine broke so I learned to repair them on my own..... -Eli |

Well Im going to be adding an alarm later and probably would have it all installed at once. I like the idea of having a remote to unlock the doors, would make it a lot nicer in these downpours we have in south florida every afternoon!!
