coolant sensors
I have a 87 944S that I need some help with coolant sensors. From what i can tell it has 2 sensors. 1 goes into the head between the #1 & 2 cylinders and has 2 spade wire connectors. There is another that is right by the thermostat housing and has a bosch style connector(looks like a fuel injector connector). Are these both temp sensors? Is one for the computer and one for the gauge? I have a wiring diagram but it is incomplete and has wrong colors. car is hard to start cold but runs fine when warm, leads me to believe temp sensor to computer is bad. I don't have specs or know which sensor to check.

the one with the spade connectors runs the guage on the dash. The one with the bosch connector is to the DME. Hard starts are most likely the check valve, fuel pressure regulator or damper, because the fuel pressure bleeds off after awhile of sitting. The reference sensors can also cause a simular problem
