924 , 4 lug to 5 lug adaptor for fuchs
guys ,
has anyone here ever tried putting 15" or 16" 911 or 944 Fuchs under a 924 with the stock wheel hubs and drum brakes in the rear? any pics (stock 924, CGT is widened so not a good example) bit too lazy and to cheap to actually redo the undercarriage of my 924, but still would like some fuchs so it matches it's older aircooled cousin... i've seen these kind of adaptors for beetle 4 lug to porsche 5 lug and the 924 beeing sort of part VW anyway , i guess this could work , at least if the offset and tiresize works out... ![]() sjopped example... i think it looks a ok

Everything would be off and by the time you spent the money for the adapters and spacers to get everything to fit right you may as well get early 944 suspension and then you'll know it'll fit for sure. I'm pretty sure the beetle uses a different bolt pattern than the 924 does, 924 is 4x110.

crap,
another idea : i know a beetle tuner that has blanc drums with no holes he drills them to whatever pattern you want question now is , does a beetle drum fit on a 924??? it's all VW , but dunno bout the size front disks is simple, i can get those from a 924 S or turbo or a 944type 1

Even if the beetle dums do fit which I highly doubt you will most likely still have offset problems. IIRC for the fronts you need the spindle, hub, rotor, calipers and you can reuse the strut housings. For the rears you need the hubs and you can reuse the trailing arms and you will need the E-brake cable and do some mods to the brake lines. It is also reccomended that you use the 944 MC as well.

well , i'll first see if those drums fit , if they don't , i'll have no choice
but if they do , there might be some fuch that fits , the 911 fuch has a different offset than the 944 fuch , so maybe one will work .. i'll let you know what i find.. i'm in no hurry though , so it might take some time till i post on this

............Or you could just re-drill the hubs

not to sure if that's safe usually the original holes are reinforced and if you redril , the new holes aren't or the holes are too close, so no strenght there
