LOOK WHAT I CAN DO - A SUPERCHARGER
Started my own thread that has become a major waste of time...
Old thread I posted in: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=225939 What I did/What I can do/What I am doing... Built/Build/Building My brand of Superchargers. Early model fitment, alignment and testing with AFM prior to MAF INSTALL: ![]() [color=teal]I have a design that is no different in principal and fundamental design than any other “accepted” centrifugal supercharger on the market. On top of that I have gone the extra mile to use a modern turbocharger based wheel, not decades old technology, which most of them still do! I use better bearings, I use better gears, belts and pulleys. I make it better and I don’t mark it up to 250% of the cost to make it either. So where is the margin for error? What is wrong with my design, work, product? I can't think of anything! I can’t leave it alone. Boost. Boost and more Boost. I am offering up the benefits of my work, research and knowledge as a low cost solution to more power in any car, and in the case of this forum, the 924/944/968. But this isn't a sales pitch. Just sharing somethign I am excited about. Whats with building custom superchargers? Think tailor/craftsman. My craft just happens to be boost!

I actually saw your website months ago and considered buying one. Give me an estimate for hp on a S2, using a conversative amount of boost since its a high-mileage engine.

Ive always wanted to turbo someting stupid like a lawnmower or scooter. Tearing across the lawn with the wheels in the air might not cut the grass so well though.

Here's the thing, Wes... your posts are so haphazard and strung-together that I can't tell whether or not you have a finished product for the 944 that is ready to be sold and shipped. This is not a slam; most good engineers don't think like writers!
Now, I see you listed a price of about $895. I would assume this is just for the supercharger, and then you would recommend upgrading ignition and supplying your own belts and pulleys? I think you are doing great work, but your posts can be kinda hard to follow, no offense.

CJ -- Simply put I Have a variety of Superchargers Available.
Several models, Different Drive Systems. Both Small Displacement and Large Displacement Motors can be fitted. I build/taylor the unit to the end user/customers needs. Simple as that. Forgive me, I have a tendency to skip around with in a subject it all makes perfect sense to me, but then I kind of see things as all related. That is engine+boost = Power!

might i suggest something... and you dont need to do this, this is just an idea.
Make a couple seperate threads. One for the layperson that simply states, in simple terms, the product, progress on the project, and projected pricing... basically, this is your "sales pitch"... "why do we need to buy these? tell me, the average joe, how it works and what it will do for me." From there, you can link to another thread where you get into all the technical information you want for all the people that are on "your level".

I have a headache.
I understand you are offering something for sale, but what are the price levels, what are the exact specs, and what are the other specifics?

Tifosiman --- what specs do you want? I have posted price levels before for the core supercharger, what specs, size, dimensions, what? For which one, at what stage, etc....
Not just puting something up forsale. I am pulling stuff out of the previous thread in the hopes of talking about it more and sharing... details answer questions.

Start a new post. Outline everything. Inform everyone of what it is they get for their money. Your potential customers don't want to wade thru the search function and a bunch of posts that don't make sense.

well tifosman, dont get ahead of yourself.. his posts make sense.. they're just very convoluted.
as you have mentioned x3, you always have to keep your audience in mind. Although i'm familiar with how a supercharger works... you need to tell me first off right off the bat how much it costs, then you need to convince me (in layperson terms) exactly why i should buy that from you... ie. what does it do for me? what kind of increases can I see? what sort of modifications are needed for an existing stock 944? *why* you dont need to change the transmission or anything like that with a supercharger but you do with a turbocharger to a stronger example... just get to the nitty gritty info.. the info the consumer needs to commit to a decision.

"Convoluted" or "don't make sense"?
To most the above is tomato or tomatto. They are one in the same.

I understand "boost" and all that goes along with it, and how to do it.
All I am trying to say, is that you need to organize your thoughts, and post them in a manner that makes it easier for the people that have the money to spend on your product want to spend their money on your product. If you are trying to sell something. If you are just into rambling on about boost and such, that's fine too and all good. I'd just hate to see something that is a good product for the 944 guys go un-noticed because everyone that reads this thread comes away asking "WTF is he talking about?".

Alright I get it, not an issue.
So atleast you guys are giving me feed back. I will have to organize and TRIM down my thoughts and then post them in sequence. I will edit this thread and start with the more precise and direct overview of the project and products. Any other comments? I dont want this to turn into a info-mercial, with fast talk and big promises. Help is welcome, Im a tech, geek, gear head, soldier and boost maniac, etc... putting this into a orgainzed format is a good thing, but advise is welcome. I am used to teaching on a specific level - so yea keep the advice coming.
