Rear Spoiler

Can anyone give me some clues on refreshing the finish on my rubber spoiler? The heat here (Oz) has made it a dullish kinda grey.

Someone said lanoline, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm open to any ideas.

When I was a young lad I worked at the local newspaper in the inserting dept. The guys who run the machines used Glycerin to keep their hands moist from handling tons or newspaper. One told me he uses it on the rubber seals on his car and stated it was the best thing to keep the rubber like new and pliable.

He was correct it does work and lasts awhile too. As for anything wet put on black rubber it is going to make it shine till it dries. I have tried many chemicals to give it a fresh look and all seem to fade back to the begining except for Glycerine. It can be purchased at the pharmacy.

All you can do is give it a go!

any trim/tire shine product will work, but keep in mind that silicone products will require you to keep applying them (but they will keep the spoiler nice and smooth, and fill in any pores)

Aerospace 303 is by far the best product I've used. Better than Back to Black IMO. Leaves a nice low gloss BLACK finish. Also perfect for the dash, seats etc.

Thanks people, tried the glycerin, looks good but is a little tacky to use.

Now that I've bought it I'll "stick" with it for a while. I think the more treatments it gets the better it will look too.
