question...automatic guages

I have a speedo, tach and fuel temp etc set of guages from a 84 944 that was an automatic.

Is the set only good for automatics or is it just the tach that is not compatible with a manual trans????

You have an 84, so I couldn't answer specifically for the early model, but on a late model 944 the fuel, temp and speedo should be compatible.
