rear turbo valance mounting question

quick question..
got a rear turbo valance sent to me... need to know how to mount it.
he sent *some* 'mounting hardware', but i need to know if i can use just generic bolts, nuts, and washers from home depot...

any pictures of the mounting hardware, as well as any pictures of how the hardware is used would be appreciated... but descriptions are welcome...

Hi Kyle

I used generic bolts that I had laying around in the garage when I fitted my euro rear. 3/8 holes with 1/4 inch bolts allows for a little "adjustment" when fitting.

Any pics of your car? I showed ya mine! Sorry to read about you losing a bit of yours.

LOL my front valance is pretty banged up... the side trim on the front fender is ripped off... and 1/4 fuch's are half polished, 2/4 fuchs are fully stripped of paint.... suffice to say it's a work in progress... LOL

but i still have more pride driving my car, bucket of bolts or not, than any kid out there who owns a billion dollar honda...

while i'm at it, is it safe to use a chemical paint stripper on a stock rear valance? i'm not sure what material it's made of... it seems poly or plastic based, so it should be fine... just double checking..

then again, i may just sand down the old paint imperfections and paint over top...

what would you do?

Being a spray painter in my past life, and seeing what some chemicals can do to plastics, I'd just sand it to be safe. If you look at pics of the turbo valance, you can save a lot of sanding if you make the visable bits nice and smooth, and the hidden bits can be just lightly done to make the new paint hold on.

I would not use paint stripper on that part, sand it down and primer.

All i can say is measure and line up the two holes you need to make twice, or you will have some funky shaped holes having to drill it out twice like me... .

The only problem i figure you may come across is no provision for the captive nuts, but you can probably drill out the holes yourself and just use nuts and bolts instead.
