Where is Chip Foose when you need him?

lol... so now that my car is mechanically sound I've decided to get caught up cosmetically. Ahhh... I guess I 'm not content unless I'm working on this thing. Anyway here's some pics of the tear down... more to come as I put her back together.

a porsche exploded in my garage... lol

Welcome to overhaulin'. Looked like mine this past winter. What you need is to get an assistant...........like AJ to help put it back together.

If I had an assistant like AJ, mine would never get back together!

lol... yeah it started off as I was just going to spot paint it... then heck why not paint the whole thing... then hey why not change the seats... then the carpet and dash and trim and so on... and so on....

haha, an Aj would be a nice addition to the project but like Razorback said i'd never get anything done.

Here's some quick updates on my progress. It's slowly starting to look pretty good.

is that silver paint? I did the same thing on my trim about a year ago and I still love the way it turned out!

and those pedals are cool, never seen them before!

one thing i could suggest is that you repaint your gauge bezel black, or maybe silver. It turns out much nicer than the faded brown look.

all in all it looks fantastic!

Thanks man! Yup, I painted all the trim silver. I actually CNC'd the pedals myself, being able to design and machine both has it's advatages. Yeah, I've been debating about painting the bezel silver. I think I'll eventually do that too.

If you'd asked me without showing me a pic, I would have said that I wouldn't like the trim - but it looks great in the pics. I am also jealous of your momo steering wheel goodness... I tried to mount an old Monte Carlo I had in my '44 but I couldn't get the horn to work correctly, anyone have this issue before? The horn would honk when rotating the steering wheel and I could not see anything that could be causing this.

haha... maybe I should start an order list for custom pedals. The shift knob definately feels different than the stock one but I'm gonna give it a shot for a while, might just take some getting used to. I love the steering wheel, feels nice and tight... not sure about what could cause the horn issue though. Thanks for all of your comments guys!

new seats plus radio are in and door panels are back on!!!! Wow, these seats were a nightmare to install. I had to make up some custom brackets and they were a tight squeeze to get in there. In the end it was well worth it, I really like how they turned out!

Are those the racing seats off e-bay? You know the ones with a great price but crazy shipping cost.

Thanks! I did get these seats off ebay... even with shipping they were still pretty cheap though. I think I spent under $300 for both of them shipped.

how do the seats feel

a while back i bought a set of fidanza seats and felt as if i would fall through thte back of it, or fold it in half, under hard acceleration.
