Anyone Know What This is? - Part or a Tool
Does anyone recognize this. When I bought my car, this was under the ashtray. It looks like it belongs to the car because the ribbing on it is identical to the ribbing on the dash vent knobs. It has an allen head shape on the other end.
I want to either throw it away or save it but not until I know for sure if it belongs to the car. I have an '88 n/a 944.......................Thanks, Vern

If it is a triangular shaped head on the end, then it's a DME FQS adjusting tool. Then again, it could be a pilot flame adjuster for a Fry-o-lator!

It looks like either something to adjust an analogue clock, or an odometer reset thingy

That's what it looks like to me but I don't have an analog clock and the knoob for resetting the odomoter is a push-button completely different type.
As far as the Fry-o-lator, I had mine taken out when I was little. |

DME FQS adjusting tool is my guess too. Is the head a triangle shape?

It is the pin used to adjust the volume control for traffic announcements on your original Blaupunkt radio.
"Tune in to a radio traffic information station (ARI-display is illuminated). Turn volume down. With the unit withdrawn from its slot but still connected, carefully (!) set the desired volume by means of the hexagon pin supplied during a radio traffic information announcement." The hole that the pin fits into is located on the bottom of the radio.

LOL, don't be too impressed...
When I first read this thread, that thingy looked familiar. I knew I had seen it before, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Last week I was going through some boxes of old parts and came across that owner's manual, and what was in the clear envelope with it?......the thingy! So, rather than brilliance, it's more like.....dumb luck.  Glad we got it figured out for ya!
