Strange Electrical Issue (Sunroof/Instr Clust)...

I have an 86 951. A few weeks ago, the instrument cluster started flickering on and off. Now it is off for good (all of the needles stay at rest). I also found out that the sunroof is not getting power either. When the cluster was getting power, the roof was too. I traced the power wire for the roof straight up to the relay box under the hood. It is connected to the roof relay (944.615.117.02) pin 2 and there is a black wire that is connected to pin 15. Pin 2 and pin 15 are the same circuit in the diagram on the relay. I traced the black wire back to the cluster harness.

Now that all of that is out of the way... I am guessing that this relay has failed causing both components to quit working. It sounds pretty logical, but at $150 I don't want to order a new relay and find out that that isn't my problem.

Does anyone have any experience with this situation, or can anyone tell me how to test this monster relay?
Thanks,

GJ

I also have an 86 951 and the same thing happened. I think it was relay G2. If that relay is no good you probably won't get power to fuses # 17,18,19. I checked by replacing it with the horn relay because they are both the same. both have the "53"
