83 944 automatic vibration
I just purchased a 1983 944 automatic with 125k miles
I am getting vibration (rumbling) when the car is in reverse or drive. the idle is smooth in park or neutral. Any ideas out there what the fix may be Thanks in advance

first guess would be the rubber damper...it's located where a clutch would be on a 5 speed.
http://www.pelicanparts.com/PartsLookup/HTML/944_2_USA_85_88_KATALOG/307-00-Frame3.htm it is item #21. btw...item #25 (snap ring) must be removed before the drive shaft can come out.
