Porsche Crest How do i tell if my D.M.E. is bad

i think my D.M.E. is bad. is there a way to troubleshoot and find out. or do i just have to spend $500 on a new one and hope. thank you.

Yeah. One of the best ways is to swap in one that you know works. Find a nearby 944 owner and break into his car and take it... no wait. Just ask nicely.

I cant test one but I have one out of an 86 N/A that george at 944 ecology tested and said is good. pm if you are interested in buying it. I will go cheaper than 500 for sure.

uhh... i have the only porsche in the county. lol

it is a 84 n/a will a 86 work? i know that the 86 has a more powerful engine... but idk.

Well, you can use an 86 dme to start the car, but it will run like crap.

If you have an 84 you need the dme from an early car. Otherwise to use the 86 dme you need the dme & the AFM.
