Wheel Stud Problem

The last person who put wheels on my car way over-torqued them (> 200ft-lbs). I was able to break all of them free except for the (factory) wheel lock nut on one of the rears. It sheared half the lug and stud.

I took it to a (new) tire place that couldn't get it off. They recommended a brake-specific place. Good idea?

I'm guessing it will have to be drilled and the stud replaced. Is it difficult for a rear wheel on a 944? The drilling out part is something I have neither the tools nor inclination for.

if half the lock lug is off, u should be able to just hammer-chisel out the other half and remove the wheel. then should be able to get some pliers or something and remove the stud.

def go slap the PO upside the head. he should know better than to impact wrench on lugs.

the snap on tool does not look like the hole saw pictured above - it looks more like the reverse of an "easy-out"

Yeah, craftsman makes the same kind of thing, too. Should be available at any Sears.
