Stock WG w/ MBC configuration?

Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations on what the best way to do this would be?

Long story short - went through a bunch of configs w/ my shop recently trying to get a Tial 38mm that I bought in - but were having some detonation problems...so we switched back to the stock WG.

It looks like I've got two lines coming from the MBC - one to the intake and the other goes directly to the WG. I know all the diagrams I saw suggest connecting the line from the MBC to the banjo bolt on the intercooler pipe. Any upside/downside to taking that right to the intake instead?

Could have sworn i answered this question when asked on Rennlist a few weeks ago.

If you want to run the stock wastegate or the Tial in single port mode with a manual boost controller you must get a ball and spring type. The bleeder type which is what you were asking about last time (from LR) simply does not work right in single port mode. The bleeder type should only be used with the Tial in dual port mode.

So if you are running the stock wastegate again, you want to put the BALL AND SPRING type boost controller inline with the fitting on the intercooler pipe directly to the wastegate fitting. You must use the line from the intercooler pipe because this part of the intake track does not really ever see vacuum do to the throttle plate being between it and the intake manifold.

I read the other threads you started on Rennlist about this and here are some things i just wanted to say..

1. Get a wideband AFR. From the post on Rennlist it sounds like you have a narrowband which is largely useless for understanding whats going on with the car. They simply do not react fast enough or with enough resolution to give you a good idea as to whats going on.

2. If you suspect something is wrong with your Tial wastegate.. contact Tial and ask them about it. You said the wastegate barely cracks open at .8 bar pressure with that corresponding spring. I am pretty sure this is the correct operation for the wastegate as it will crack open just enough to maintain .8 bar pressure from the turbo.. (so its bleeding exhaust gas to do this). The stock wastegate opens early wider because the spring is soft, this is why alot of guys cant even come close to running 15-16psi to redline on a 26/8 or larger turbo (the 26/6 just cant handle it).

Thanks - it wasn't me that asked the question a few weeks ago - only had the car back for a couple days now...

I was reading a little about this in some other threads...

Isn't a ball and spring basically a Lindsey Boost Enhancer? I found a Hallman that has a knob you can mount in the dash and it looks like it just connects between the banjo bolt and the single port on the wastegate. Is it OK for the CV to be disconnected (like it is right now) with that configuration??

Any other brand/type recommendations over the Hallman for this configuration?

Finally, right now my banjo bolt on the intercooler pipe has nothing connected and it just tightened shut. How do you configure that connection to accept the soft vacuum line?
