Lightbulb Late 944 Fan doesn't work, AC fan does

Ok, so I am not sure whats going on. The only fan that will work is the AC fan (passenger side), so the other fan doesn't work. So when I have the AC on the car runs on the high side, and when I don't have the AC on the car runs medium-high temps. So no matter what I do, the car will overheat when sitting at a street light for 2 mins. Any ideas? Would that be a relay? I just figured if there relay was bad, then both fans would not work. thanks guys

Robert

Do some research on past posts on here and go to Clarks-Garage.com for help. Most of the problems I have had are already covered by other posts. I use "Search" most of the time, another place is 944online.com and rennlist. I hope this will answer any questions you will have. It sounds as if the driver side fan is not operating at all. I made a pair of long jumper wires 10ga. with clips to test with. Most ground wires are brown. Unplug the connection and hook clips to the pins to test each fan. Up in your fuse box the large silver relay is for the fans and also the most expensive $200 plus. I bought a spare fuse box off ebay for $30 and it had all the relays in it and fuses.

I know that the relays are. How would I check the fuse? to make sure its not the connection? Any idea? I would hate to buy a new fuse for $150+ and will just break again leaving me in same situation. Anyone have one for sale? lol. thanks guys

you buy fuses in a pack for a few $$, remove and ck with an ohmeter, not visual.

if the fuse is good, check to see if you have voltage to the plug that attaches to the fan ass'y.
if the fuse is good but no voltage, it could be wiring/connection/corrosion issue.

the relay can be expensive but i'd bet it's a fuse.
