I don't know if this will help you out or not, but give it a try.

nope sorry not very helpful. thanks anyways. i traced the blue wire into the fuse block and it goes into section E but i have no idea where it would come out at. also this is on a 86 944 n/a. my key turns everything on but when i go to turn it over theres nothing except the fuel pump running. maybe its just the ignition switch but i wanna make sure there is no problems with the wiring first. thanks in advance.

where does the blue terminate in the engine compartment besides the central electric unit? Are you sure it is solid blue? does it have a tracer color as well?
The only solid blue I see under the hood is for the tempostat control unit (cruise control) oil pressure sending unit and the alternator harness

yeah its an all light blue wire. it runs along with the red/black wire from the alternator. it is the signal wire that goes to the starter. when you turn the key over it should give a 12v signal to engage the starter but im gettin no power. i put a 12v switch at the plug above the brake booster and then it cranks the starter over so im not getting power before there. either its not coming from the ignition switch or theres a problem in the fuse block. like i said i traced the wire into block E in the fuse block but no idea where it comes out at and if it heads to the ignition switch. thanks

Replace the ignition switch modual forward of the actual key switch. I had to replace mine to get the starter to turn over. They have an artical on here in the Tech section on how to do it and in clarks-garage.com (Home).
