Sunroof Operation Failure
Hi All!
1988 944. Up until about 2 months ago, the Sunroof worked great. Now when I put the ignition key in the ACC position and depress the switch to retract the gears, the sunroof gears retract to allow the sunroof to be removed. Press the switch to lock the sunroof and they lock the sunroof. Normal operation. When I turn the key to ON or start the car, the gears still do the same thing. They do not go up to vent. I have checked the switch, its clean (no carbon on the contacts). The micro switches all appear to be working correctly. Any ideas? Thanks! |

I had the same sunroof problem as you, except it was sporadic. While the microswitch between the visors worked fine, the little hooked metal clip on the sunroof itself wasn't always depressing it correctly in the "closed" position to reset it and allow it to open. Someone else could probably explain it better. Anyway, a little "percussive maintenance" right between the visors fixed it.

Check this out, it should solve your problem - actually sounds like limit switch 2 is faulty or needs adjustment
