New member introduction

Hi.

As my user name suggests, I'm a big fan of the 944S2. More specifically it's engine!

I have a fairly rare 86' non-sunroof 944, with an S2 engine conversion that I have almost built to what I consider phase1. In other words it's drivable lol. I still have a few electrical woes to iron out and a bunch of cosmetic stuff too but it's coming along nicely.

I hope to tap into the boards collective knowlege and wish to contribute as and when I'm capable of doing so. I'm no newbie to the 924/44 world and post occasionally on 924.org under the name of ic932.

Regards,
Dave.

. . .and if Dave ever posts something that seems completely out in left field, do a quick time calculation to determine whether it is near happy hour in the UK.

Actually, the name comes from a local hero here in Portland, Brian Grant, who proved himself a tireless warrior and a wonderful citizen of our community when he played basketball for the Trail Blazers. The local media started calling him "The Rasta Monsta" because of his aggressive interior play and dread locks.

Because he is also a hero of mine, and played the positions I usually play (3 or 4), I chose the moniker as an online indentity years back. We were all very proud of Brian, for what he did both on and off the court.

Really inspired by my admiration for him, nothing to do with drugs.

Anyway, back to you. Must be getting late there, eh?

P.S. Glad you're here, looking forward to hearing more about your car. Don't forget that timing chain tensioner!

Thanks for your kind words. One day with the help of this board I would like to become confident and credible enough to become part of a source of valuable info based on practical knowlege and not inuendo/urban myth. I'm a relative newbie to the 16V world...albeit it a very excited and enthusiastic one.

The 968 is of course the pinnicle of the 24/44 engine series. I'm not qualified to give much engine specific advise yet...
