Stupid question.... But how many quarts does our car hold
Ok sorry for the dumb question but i am about to change my own oil and I dont know how many quarts it holds? Thanks Rafal

Interesting. Rafal---looks like there may have been a change in oil capacity somewhere in the 84-87 range. My '87 manual actually states "6.87 U.S. quarts (turbo 7.4)" Given the information from Stray and Crazy, I'd probably put in 6 quarts, run it (so oil filter is full, be sure to change oil filter of course), then check dipstick. Bet you'll be right on the money. If you're a little low, you can always add the extra you need to bring it right to the full mark.

When you remove the old filter, make sure to stuff lots of towels around the base of it...cause oil will flow out of the filter....onto the power steering hoses and sway bar bushings (in my case).
My turbo takes 6.5 or so quarts. I try to make sure that the car is higher on the driver side than the passanger side, to make sure that as much of the oil as possible is drained. --adrial
