Google up Hamburg-Technis and read posts from the BMW and MB boards about their products and D nine. There are so many things that were made in Germany that are now out sourced to China and India and other countries and come back "Made in Germany". A Water Pump is not something you want to cheap out on. Go with a Laso or Zim's rebuilt. Any moving part can and will fail over time, the question is How Soon.

Cheers,
Larry

For a water pump that is driven off of the timing belt on an interference engine, the correct answer to that should go something like this:

"Hopefully, not before it has been replaced."

That's a big load of BS to be marked as such, and not be the truth. Looks like they get bombarded with the renditons, the facsimiles, or whatever you prefer to call them, just like the US does. Or does the stuff that ends up here not even touch German soil?

Just wondering, the seller assure you that if you don't like it & it's bad quality he will refund your money .How would you know if the pump is ok before you install & run it in the car can't tell by just looking at it( meaning money & time spend doing the job) & then your saying there no risque for you .Let say that pump is not the quality product it should be & give up on you. I'll agree it's no risque for you but what about the motor in your car. Cheap today -expensive tomorrow that what I'm trying to say

Me say:

If get, make sure check frequently. Might be original spec bearing (or maybe worse).

By that, I mean loosen the belt and check the pulley for play, and tight spots or roughness. Maybe check for leaks, too.

Reading this two phrases come to mind:
"Caveat emptor" - let the buyer beware and
You get what you pay for.

Man, I just purchased a "re-coil" brand helicoil thread repair kit from them. I hope it works.

IMHO, the zims rebuild is the ONLY way to go.
