Google up Hamburg-Technis and read posts from the BMW and MB boards about their products and D nine. There are so many things that were made in Germany that are now out sourced to China and India and other countries and come back "Made in Germany". A Water Pump is not something you want to cheap out on. Go with a Laso or Zim's rebuilt. Any moving part can and will fail over time, the question is How Soon.

For a water pump that is driven off of the timing belt on an interference engine, the correct answer to that should go something like this: "Hopefully, not before it has been replaced." That's a big load of BS to be marked as such, and not be the truth. Looks like they get bombarded with the renditons, the facsimiles, or whatever you prefer to call them, just like the US does. Or does the stuff that ends up here not even touch German soil?

Me say:
If get, make sure check frequently. Might be original spec bearing (or maybe worse). By that, I mean loosen the belt and check the pulley for play, and tight spots or roughness. Maybe check for leaks, too.

Reading this two phrases come to mind:
"Caveat emptor" - let the buyer beware and You get what you pay for.

OP...read the posts by dissatisfied customers on DP USA...refunds DO NOT materialize easily.
NOTE: a QUALITY Zims rebuild...$89 plus core.
