...would...not...buy...likely a poor quality bearing in that one. A Chinese knock-off methinks.

The tear stains from exploited sweatshop workers.

Hate to tell you but the Chinese problem infects the supply chain of just about every manufacturer even if its just purchasing steel with higher than spec carbon content.

If it looks too good to be true, it likely is.

These waterpumps new should run in the $300+ range, so a half priced one would scare me, personally.

Alot of these off-brand pumps are built with poor quality bearings...likely by jobbers offshore. Could be a Mexican knockoff to.

I bought a rebuilt from Zims that has a 2 year warranty, and their rebuilds have the turbo style/quality bearing.

Check the sellers rating. Sign up for PayPal buyer credit and just pay the bill in full each month. It makes it WAY easier to get your money back on bad purchases.

I got my top end reseal kit for $100 with shipping. Seller had a pretty high stock. Sometimes you get lucky and someone is just sitting on too much slow moving product and needs to get some cashflow. Seller rating is key though, read all the negative comments. If the feedback looks good, its your choice wether to take the gamble and maybe have to replace it again sooner than normal.

Rick, I'm not so sure on this one because the box looks to me like the Laso waterpump box I received my new Laso water pump in 3 or so years ago. I actually just sent the seller a question asking if in fact it was a Laso. If it is, that my friend, is a helluva deal!! You and I both know what a Laso costs.

But then why does he show a Lasco box in the picture?

My question is, how come it is missing the pulley? Aren't they pressed on?

Also, does it use the upgraded bearing?

Wild man, I think you are onto something. The pulley is missing on the pump, the box is out of focus so you can't read the name of the company making the pump. Good points you brought up. This deal smells like fish...

The pump is indeed from Hamburg Technic. Maybe the pulley is optional?

I would NOT buy it. Search is your friend.

These scammers can re-create ANY OEM box and slog the crap they build as such.

Buyer beware.

Interesting post and replys.
The quality of Deutsch Parts products have been covered a few times.

The quality of the Deutsch Parts motor mounts is terrible----they lasted about 10 months on my '88--maybe 2000 miles.

I would get a rebuilt as mentioned above before buying a new WP from DeutschParts.

If the seller says that it meets or exceeds OEM specs, I would tend to believe him, but... I would also assume that to be the ORIGINAL specs, for the ORIGINAL BEARING.

It does pain me that Hamburg Technic is taking down the reputation that German products have, for being of good quality. Maybe they are actually made in China, and the German name/location is just a front?

C'mon ernie, your not even going to have to work for your money anymore.
