please help

Ok, my 87 944na with a few mods is having the weirdest problem. This just started today. when i floor it, it goes through the gears to about 5krpms, then the power suddenly falls off and it stays at 5krpms, its really annoying. It picks up through all rpms, dies a little at 4.6k rpms, then just stops accelerating at 5kprms, then when I shift it does the same thing in every gear. Could this be due to a problem with my performance chip rev limiter? I've had the chip for about 6 months, no probs yet. Any ideas please. This started for no apparent reason, just this morning, and it won't go away. Thanks for any help.
Brendan.

I upped the dme mixture 3 % a couple weeks ago, could that have done it? How do i check my vac lines? Should i return the dme to normal and see if it goes away? Thanks.

rev limiters are usually not that smooth when you exceed the limit rpms will drop if you continue to press the throtle the engine will shudder as it tries to exceed the rev limiter check the vacum line by srpaying brake cleaner on them if the engine sucks in the brake cleaner the rpms will rise im chasing a power loss problem too its a pia
