Converting to tilt steering wheel ('83 944), can it be done?
Ok, I do not know about the workings of the steering column or anything, but can my '83 944 have a tilt steering wheel/column adapted to it? Has anyone ever done this? Could I do something like get a boxster rack that had tilt?

I suppose it is theoretically possible.
However, I would imagine it would take quite a bit of "garage engineering" to get it in there correctly. Not to mention being rather expensive. Why do you want a tilt steering wheel anyways? AFJuvat |

If I can do it, I will, for the dad.

Well then, All you will need is a complete steering wheel/column assembly

Wow, a 21 year gap update on this thread!
And I haven't seen any tilt steering projects online...

I think I'd go with a quick disconnect steering wheel hub.

newer steering wheeels might have airbags , does yours? modifying this stuff takes it away from the approved crash dummy tests that manufacturers do. Maybe a quick release like a racer uses, increases safety?
