Power steering pump nightmare.

I thought I'd post this so someone else won't make the same expensive mistake that I made when replacing the PS belt.
In order to get the new belt on the pulleys, I needed to loosen the pump. Thinking that there was only one long bolt with a nut on the opposite end holding the pump to the bracket, I loosened the bolt in the front, and started turning the tensioner to get enough slack to install the belt. I kept turning and turning the tensioner but the pump wasn't moving. I felt around for the nut on the back of the pump to make sure that it was loose. Well.....there was no nut. Instead Porsche put another bolt on the back of the pump. The housing is threaded to accept these bolts. Being made of pot iron, the housing broke right where the bolts go. Turning the tensioner put enough strain on the tightened housing that it literally snapped it as it was turning. Now I get to replace the pump. I've looked around but it looks like it's going to be around $300 to get another pump. I don't think that my core is even rebuildable with the housing broken. So....if you need to loosen your PS pump to move it, always loosen both the front and rear bolts before you start turning the tensioner. Like everything else, I learned the hard way. Thanks for letting me vent.

this is just an idea im not sure how bad the damage is but you can go to your local boat store and by a product called Marinetex its an epoxy that can be molded like putty the stuff is amazing ive used it on several items and its hard as hell you can use it to reconstruct the housing it will file or sand like metal then drill it out tap it and you can tourqe the bolt into it this is one of the best products i have ever used i know it sounds strange but my dad has repaired mounts on the boat this way boaters even use this stuff to repair cracked engine blocks
