Clutch Pedal Rebuild on ROW car
Dismantled my clutch pedal on my United Kingdom spec car over the weekend. Can't get it back together ...
![]() Okay all here is a diagram of the clutch pedal assembly. ![]() So to reassemble it should be a case of bush (2) followed by pedal, then another bush (2) and finally clip (9) The bushes are REALLY tight and I just broke one ... So first thing. Anyone got advice on the bushes? I greased them with moly grease, still near impossible to fit. When I disassembled the pedal, I removed the clip, then prises out the first bush, then the pedal, then final bush. There is not enough room to remove the lot in one go. So I wonder if I have to let the entire bracket (31) go to make more room to slide the pedal back on (with bushes driven into the ends). But that doesn't look like a simple task due to the bar which extends the brake pedal from the left side of the car to the right .... Help appreciated as always! |

Minor update.
I let the 3 bolts go which hold the clutch bracket in and this gives a bit more "wriggle room" to refit the clutch pedal. There is now enough clearance between the pivot and the driveshaft tunnel to allow the pedal with bushes installed to slide on. However, due to the tight fit of the bushes I suspect I am going to have to completely remove the bracket and put it in a vice to drive the bushes on. To do this however, the brake pedal assembly complete with the extended bar which runs from the left side of the car to the right (as the servo is on the left and we here in UK drive on right!) will have to come out. This is turning into quite a job for an amateur!

The answer to this was to ream out the bush with a pair of long bladed scissors! Got it perfect in the end.
