No start!

Installed a/f and boost gauges...no start. It doesn't even crank.
Car was last driven 5 hours ago and has been driven daily for the past week.

I hear relays click, but nothing else....

All fuses are good (pulled em all out and checked em all).

More info:
Headlights are nice and bright, battery terminals are good. 12.4 volts at the battery. Somewhere around 11 volts on the gauge inside the car (typical when the car isn't running).

I guess check voltage at the starter next?

Could it be the factory alarm?? I just unplugged it and plugged it back in, no dice. How do I reset the alarm?

I have been turning the battery on/off a lot (battery cut off switch) while installing the a/f gauge and lighting for the boost gauge, could that piss off the alarm?

I messed with one of the grounds by the cruise control brain, could that do it?

thanks in advance,
Adrial

I'd start off with checking all of the grounds you can find and make sure that they are clean as a whistle and buttoned down. It seems like lots of people have grounding problems on these cars.

Another thing to try is to directly wire the starter from the battery with jumper cables and see if you can get it to crank. I don't like the idea much but tried it once to diagnose a bad starter. I believe the Haynes manual describes this test.

Hope you get back on the road.

Battery is fully charged, thats not it.
The starter solenoid isn't being told to engage/the starter isn't being told to spin by ignition on. Ignition on is getting nothing. All connections check out OK with a multimeter and with visual inspection.

Whats next?
Does unlocking/locking the doors reset the alarm?

thanks,
Adrial

I shorted ignition on the constant 12v positive and it sparked and made noises so I the starter/solenoid is fine.

I have a few questions in the wiring diagram in the factory manuals.

What is "T24" ? (highlighted/pointed to) What does it do?

I assume Central electric is the fuse box, where is G25? I don't see relay #'s that go that high in the fuse box?? What does it do?

I really want to get her running by sunday...autocross Worse comes to worse I can bump start it...

thanks!!

Did the engine turn over when you shorted the 12v to the solenoid or did the motor just spin? When mine was bad it made a horrible racket but didn't engage.

After looking at this for a day (most of yesterday + the night before)...I gave up on it for now.

I temporarily rigged a relay + switch + safety switch +fuse to the ignition on of the starter..it works great for now. I needed to have the car running for the autox tomorow (meadowlands, NJ)...so this works for now
