Porsche Crest Basic Maintenance Question

So I just bought my first porsche (924). I am going to replace the oil, belt, trans oil, and spark plugs. Should I just get all the parts through pelican or is there a better place for this stuff. Also, are there any other general things that I should replace after getting a 1981 924. For the trans oil I was thinking red line mt-90.

First welcome to the forum Josh, and yes Pelican can supply you with all parts needed at a very competitive price versus anywhere else.Plus you are dealing with very honest peoples which offer #1 service. For trans/diff oil most 944s/968 owners use Red Line GL4 MT90 with no issues ,so should be the same for your 924.Motor oil density/grade will depend in which part of the wood your from & how cold it does get.If you got your owner manual go by what ever they specify. Will also suggest you join www.924org.com(click on 924BOARD.ORG Index Forums Topics),those guys have ton of knowledge about your specific 924.For hard to find or NLA parts www.garageideola.com(click onIdeola and aposwill sometime be your savior lol.

Josh dont forget your air filter, oil filter and fuel filter.

Forum, let me introduce josh he is a good friend of mine (well actually my brother) and bought his 924 on my advise. His plan is to rebuild it part by part an learn along the way.

Regards
Dave

DEFINITELY get redline mt 90! I use it in my S2 and I love it! I buy from Pelican and Zims in Dallas. I live in New Orleans so sometimes Zim's works better being fairly close, but I use both places
