So, I've had a pretty bad hunting idle on my '83 944 for a couple months now, I believe to have solved it by adjusting what i believe to be the idle screw, (next to the throttle cable, small flat head screw) and tightening it down a little and my hunting idle has since been fixed. I'm just wondering if that was the right thing to do? since then it runs a little better and i get better gas mileage too so I don't think it was the wrong thing to do. I'm also curious what the actual idle RPM is supposed to be? Right now i have it at 1,000 RPMs when warm, runs around 800 to 900 when cold but fires right up with out a problem. Any ideas?
P.S. Thanks a lot to all who've helped me with my past post, this car has been a pain to figure out sometimes on my own. |
